Britain’s on-course bookmakers face a tight operational deadline as Betdaq trading ends on October 21, 2026. They must open a separate Matchbook account, arrange any balance transfer and update the software used at racecourses.

The United Council of Racecourse Bookmakers published the changeover notice on October 15. Bookmakers using Racecourse Data Technologies systems will need Matchbook login details from October 21. Identity and address checks are part of the new account process.

Betdaq trading ends on October 21, but withdrawals and account access remain available until November 4. Open positions cannot be transferred between the two exchanges.

What bookmakers need to do

  • Open a Matchbook account before the Betdaq trading deadline.
  • Arrange the transfer of any Betdaq balance to a new or existing Matchbook account.
  • Provide a bookmaker’s licence, proof of identity and recent proof of address.
  • Contact Racecourse Data Technologies about the software update needed for racecourse logins.

The change is not an automatic migration. Matchbook says Betdaq customer accounts and the customer database will not transfer automatically. Each bookmaker must complete a separate account process and pass the receiving operator’s checks.

Two dates matter

Betdaq, operated by Exchange Platform Solutions Limited, is due to remain open for trading until October 21, 2026. Matchbook says account access for viewing information and withdrawing balances should remain available until November 4, 2026.

Open positions also cannot move between the two exchanges. Matchbook’s transition information says customers should trade out of Betdaq positions by October 18. After that date, remaining positions may be voided or settled under Betdaq’s arrangements.

Any equivalent position placed on Matchbook would be a new bet at the prices available there. It would not continue the old Betdaq position.

Why the change reaches beyond one brand

For on-course bookmakers, the acquisition affects more than the name on an exchange account. It also involves identity checks, account funding, balance reconciliation and the software connecting betting activity with racecourse operations.

Racecourse Data Technologies says bookmakers will not need to replace their equipment or change the basic way they work on course. The immediate difference is the account used to access the exchange. Technicians are expected to install the required software version.

Matchbook completed its acquisition of Betdaq on October 14, 2026. The company says the deal brings the two exchange businesses into one operation. Matchbook’s parent, Triplebet Limited, holds active remote betting intermediary and general betting licences on the Gambling Commission’s public register.

A short window for a detailed changeover

The timetable leaves bookmakers less than a week between the industry notice and the end of Betdaq trading. Waiting until the final days could leave account checks or software changes competing with preparations for live racecourse business.

The practical message is clear: Betdaq access may continue for withdrawals after October 21, but continued exchange trading through racecourse systems requires a Matchbook account, a completed transfer arrangement and updated login software.
