Matchbook Bought Betdaq’s Brand, But Customers Must Start Again
Betdaq trading ends on 21 October 2026. Customers can withdraw until 4 November, but their accounts will not move to Matchbook.
Matchbook has acquired the Betdaq brand and domain names, but not Betdaq’s existing customer accounts or database. The current operator, Exchange Platform Solutions Limited, will stop Betdaq trading across its markets on 21 October 2026.
Customers can log in and withdraw available balances until 4 November 2026. Anyone who wants to use Matchbook must open a separate account and complete its verification checks, according to the operator’s closure FAQ.
The key Betdaq closure dates
- 14 October 2026: Exchange Platform Solutions stopped accepting new registrations and deposits. Some non-exchange products, including casino, virtuals, sportsbook and multiples, began to be withdrawn.
- 21 October 2026: Betdaq betting closes. Customers can no longer place bets, although they can continue managing eligible open positions until the exchange shuts.
- 4 November 2026: The final scheduled day for customers to access their accounts and withdraw available funds.
- 5 November 2026: The Betdaq website will display a closure notice and customer-service contact details.
What Matchbook bought
Matchbook announced on 14 October that it had completed the acquisition of Betdaq. The company described the deal as a way to bring together two established peer-to-peer betting brands and build a deeper exchange pool.
Exchange Platform Solutions provides the narrower legal and operational picture. Triplebet Limited, which operates Matchbook, acquired the Betdaq brand name and associated domains. The existing Betdaq accounts and customer database were excluded from the deal.
Betdaq account information will not be shared with Matchbook unless a customer requests a balance transfer, according to Matchbook.
The practical result is simple: the Betdaq name may return under Matchbook, but the old Betdaq account does not automatically follow it.
Withdrawals remain the immediate priority
Exchange Platform Solutions says customer funds are held in segregated bank accounts and that sufficient funds are maintained to cover outstanding balances. Withdrawals remain available through the registered payment method until 4 November, subject to identity or source-of-funds checks where required.
The operator says it aims to process withdrawals within one working day. Banks and payment providers may then take a further three to five working days.
Customers who miss the 4 November account-access deadline can still contact Betdaq support about an outstanding balance. The deadline ends normal account access, not necessarily all support for unresolved withdrawals.
Open bets will not all receive the same treatment
Bets that can settle on or before 21 October will be settled normally. Bets matched before 14 October and due to settle between 21 October and 30 November will also be honoured.
Positions linked to events concluding after 30 November will be voided, with stakes returned. Bets placed after 14 October on markets due to settle after 21 October can also be voided.
Unmatched bets on those markets must be cancelled or will be returned when the market is closed, according to the closure FAQ.
A smaller exchange market faces a test
The deal arrives as Britain’s betting exchange market remains much smaller than it was a decade ago. Gambling Commission figures cited by iGaming Times put Great Britain’s remote betting exchange gross gambling yield at £92.7 million in the 2025/26 financial year.
- 2025/26: £92.7 million
- 2024/25: £101.4 million
- 2016/17: £171.5 million
That makes the customer handover more important than the branding. Matchbook’s promise of deeper liquidity depends on Betdaq users registering again, completing fresh checks and continuing to trade on the combined platform.
No automatic transfer guarantees that outcome. For British customers, the immediate deadlines are 21 October 2026, when trading stops, and 4 November 2026, when the normal account-access window ends.
